The Byron Chronicles – A Year In The Life: Episode 8 – Christmas at the End of World — 8 Comments

  1. I did not really get the point of this episode apart from ending the current arc.
However, I did not understand who the man was who sent Byron off to somewhere new.
Shouldn’t he have died at the end of his year?
And if not, where was he dropped off?

Will there be some kind of story which tells us this?

Did this arc somehow break in-universe continuity?
I am asking for two reasons:
    1. Wasn’t it stated somewhere around the end of season one that creatures from the Labyrinth (First Ones) escaping or something similar caused the fall of Rome?
    2.
What happened to the task Byron wanted Santa Claus to do for him in the 2015 Christmas Episode “Jack Frost”?
Did Santa complete it? What was this task and is it still relevant since the last episode did not mention this.
The entire “A Year In The Life” did not mention it again.
In the comments for Jack Frost it was stated that we would get a continuation of this for Christmas 2016.
However, if I remember right, there was no Christmas 2016 episode.
So what happened to that entire plot, now that it looks like “A Year In The Life” might be finished with this latest episode?

  2. That ending was hilarious.

Also, I imagine the Vaudeville Man’s rant about having to stitch things up so they make sense is a reference to how much of a pain it must have been to write this series for as long as it’s been going sometimes. So much stuff has happened, it must be hard to keep it all together and make sure it makes some sort of sense.

  3. Poor Byron, he can’t catch a break can he. What I do hope we see (hear) going forward is Byron actually doing something. He’s been pretty much a bystander recently. For a man of tricks and guile he’s been rather less a active trickster than I’d have liked recently!

I’m a big fan and listen to the whole run more than once. Let’s have ass kicking Byron back…surviving in his new capacity as a … well no spoilers … but let’s see him surviving and thriving by actually doing something other than getting taken prisoner please!

    • Part of that is most likely due to the consequences of using the reality stone. He was dying, so he probably couldn’t really afford to waste a lot of energy doing things he normally would be able to.
